NAILED-RIGHT IN CAMOUFLAGE || #Armed Forces Remembrance Day

Well, it's another nail post, I tried but I couldn't stop myself from doing another post on nails. Nail-Art gives me so much joy - drawing and watching little patterns and lines come together to form a beautiful picture, but that was not my reason for today's post. ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY was my inspiration.

" Nigeria, Armed Forces Day, also known as Remembrance Day, is celebrated on 15 January. It was formerly celebrated on 11 November of every year to coincide with the Remembrance Day (Poppy Day) for the World War II veterans in the British Commonwealth of Nations. But it was changed to 15 January in Nigeria in commemoration of the surrender of Biafran troops to the Federal troops on 15 January 1970, thus concluding the Nigerian Civil War that sought to tear apart the unity of Nigeria..."Wikipedia
The Armed Forces Remembrance Day honour members of the Nigerian Armed Forces who fought in the first and second World Wars, and those who served or are still serving in various peace support operations worldwide as well as those who fought in the Nigerian civil war. The day both remembers the dead and celebrate the living heroes including all those who suffered various deprivations as a result of wars.

Truthfully, I almost gave up on this nail art after I ransacked my polish collection and couldn't find the colours I needed. In the long run, colour mixing saved the day as usual. I was able to take a few pictures of the process involved but I got tired along the way. Its hard job being the Photographer and the Nail Artist all at once: having to pause after every process of painting, look through the camera lens, focus till you see that perfect image, click! and still go back to painting. And all the while you are trying to rush through your work so that daylight will be your friend in this whole process. PLENTY TALK!! But you understand, shey?

Let's see what I  was able to do with what I had.
I know you are looking for the red polish on the nails. Well, that's the mystery of godliness colour mixing (not everyone will catch this joke)

Let me show you how:

So I worked with these colours.  Three coats of Polish 5 was used as my base colour (background colour)

Then my adventure began: I mixed Polish 1(lemon) and 2(black).

And I got a darker shade of green, more like the 'Army-Green' I wanted.

I used my Nail Art Brush to place random patterns on the nails. You can use a bobby-pin (hair-pin) instead of a nail brush.

ERrrrhm!!!! This is where I stopped taking pictures, but following the way this pattern was placed, you could achieve the camouflage nails. I mixed White to the Dark-Green (Army-Green) I had already and I got a Lighter-Green (olive colour). A mixture of Red and one of the Green I had gave a Deep-Brown. I placed each of these colours in no particular order on the nails and finished off by adding black to the pattern on the nails

That's the end of my story adventure.

If you want to try this, you can save yourself this whole stress of mixing nail polish here and there by using the exact colours of a camouflage. I went through this because I really wanted this post to be up as soon as possible and I didn't want to wait till when I'm ready to shop for nail polish.

Let me know what you think about this art
